Auriculas, (named for their leaves that were thought to look like bear’s ears) are such perfectly formed flowers with circular bands of curious colours, that at first glance they look unreal. For centuries they have been collected, cross bred, exhibited and named by the plant breeders – the names are often particularly endearing.this is one of 4 individual flower pot prints that I developed from the original Auricula Theatre embroidery, as seen in the Hearts & Flowers book
