Vintage Topiary Bird Print

This hand-embroidered and silk work was inspired by my favourite pair of topiary birds to be found guarding the Bathing Pool at Hidcote. Many years ago, they wore crowns and were deemed to be peacocks. Here I have transported one of them to the late summer garden, that surrounds the pool garden, especially for my exhibition 'Inspired to Stitch: Hidcote Revisted.

This *gliclee print is featured on the front cover of my picture book, 'Drawn to Stitch' that features all the works in my exhibition at Hidcote.
